Paulo Olarte

After spend many years in Hamburg and work there together with labels such as Liebe*Detail, Eminor, Diynamic and others, and give life to his own imprint Fresh Fish, colombian Paulo Olarte is living this days in Berlin and concentraiting his productions on raw, warm, pure house and tecno music (and more to come, like tecno-cumbia, house-reggeaton and others), made only with machines most of them analog.

Always searching for a prudent dosis of dust, looking also for the perfect vocal in the language wich comes to his mind at that precise moment.

Grown up in Cali/Colombia his roots are full of latin flavour specially guided by salsa, wich is the sound that controls this city also known as “la cuna de la salsa”, he is also influenced by cumbia, merengue, currulao and many other tropical rythms. He has played all around the globe and is known for his specially long sets between 8 and 10 hours where he takes the crowd to a trip from where returning is almost impossible. You can find his music on labels like Galaktika records, Polytone recordings, Trenton and others.

His tracks like “Solo Tu”, “bounce of love”,”la loba”, “don´t leave me”, “donde estas” just to mention a few of them, have a sure shut place in the cases of djs like sven väth, ivan smagghe and so on. Still playing vinyl and also carring it, this latino is keeping oldskool alive and his sets are also a mixture of new and old stuff.
